Methodist Hospital Nurse Willie Miller Shares His Path to Healing

Published: Dec. 28, 2022

Willie Miller was Nebraska's starting fullback and tallied a career-high 225 yards during his senior season in 2000.

After his playing days for the Cornhusker football team, Miller's life took many twists and turns, but he recently decided to pursue a nursing degree.

Miller graduated from Creighton’s Accelerated Nursing Program in December 2021 and received board approval after passing the NCLEX last February. Today, Miller serves as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) at Methodist Hospital.

“The thing I really love about my life today, I really try to help other people, and that’s what I try and do everyday,” Miller said. “And another I love about being a circulating RN, is that I’m part of a team again, right? You rely on one another, and the goal is to take care of that patient.

“It’s the coolest thing to be able to do everyday. I mean, it really is.”
