Thank You For Saving Our Lives

“We want to thank everyone from the doctors to the people who pick up the trash for the care we received.”

When the type of surgery needed for an advanced case of prostate cancer, Rapid City, South Dakota resident Michael Dowd contacted and was treated at the Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center. He praised the care he received during diagnosis, surgery and post-op  including nurses, transportation, lab, housekeeping, imaging and others who helped him giggle as well as cry.

Then, life-saving care was needed for his wife Cheryl. After receiving a medication overdose of T3 1000 times over normal, the local emergency room recommended she be sent to another city by air ambulance. Without hesitation, the Dowds requested she be sent to Methodist. After 2 days in intensive care and hospitalization, team members cared for her “as if she was part of their own families.”
