Thank you from a doctor-turned-patient to a special nurse

An open letter to Methodist Hospital

I was a patient at Methodist Hospital after undergoing shoulder reconstructive surgery.

During my time there, I was treated in a highly cordial and professional manner by all involved. However, I would like to single out for special commendation a nurse I know only by the name of Allie.

There was no doubt in my mind that she hastened my recovery.

Dr. Louis Gerbino

Allie was particularly empathic to my individual situation. Her kindness and care were truly exceptional, but I think, most importantly, there was a personal chemistry between us that actually made my stay enjoyable. (I have never had surgery before.) There is no doubt in my mind that she hastened my recovery.

I will be needing knee surgery sometime soon. I had been dreading it, but that dread has been mitigated by the chance to work with such a fantastic nurse again.

Sincerely,

Louis Gerbino, MD
