Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Cardiopulmonary Rehab offers complete pulmonary rehabilitation services and training for several pulmonary rehabilitation programs throughout the region.

Three phases of pulmonary rehab

Inpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Patients may begin the rehab process while in the hospital. At this time, information is provided on the self-management of lung disease.

Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation

The outpatient pulmonary rehab program, located at Jennie Edmundson Hospital, consists of monitored activity and education regarding the diagnosis, treatment and management of chronic lung disease. Spouses are encouraged to attend these classes to learn and offer support.

The rehab program, which is designed to meet the individual needs of each patient, is coordinated by a pulmonologist, registered nurse and exercise physiologist in addition to your personal physician.

Pulmonary rehabilitation services may be covered by your insurance. Check with your insurance provider regarding coverage.

Lifetime maintenance

This final phase of the pulmonary rehabilitation process promotes maintenance of your individualized plan while encouraging you to strengthen your exercise capacity. For your convenience, the maintenance program is available at several locations including partnerships with community health and fitness centers.
