Published: Feb. 11, 2015

RALSTON, NE – After five straight road games the Omaha Lancers return home to Ralston Arena for a great cause this Saturday night to play the Des Moines Buccaneers at 7:35 p.m.  A very number of limited tickets remain for the annual “Pink in the Rink” Night presented by Methodist Health System.  Proceeds from the evening will be going to Susan G Komen Nebraska.

“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Methodist Health System and Susan G. Komen Nebraska,” said Bryan Marshall, Vice President of Business Operations for the Omaha Lancers.  “We look forward to Saturday being a great night!”

The evening will be filled with ways to help raise not only breast cancer awareness, but funds for Susan G. Komen Nebraska.  A silent jersey auction will be held throughout the contest when the doors open to the arena at 6:35 p.m.  Fans in attendance can place bids on the game-worn specialty jersey’s the players will be wearing on the ice.  A “buy it now” option will also be available.  Once again, Methodist Health System is looking forward to this great cause.

“The physicians and staff at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center greatly appreciate the generous spirit of the Lancers and their fans to raise funds to help Susan G. Komen Nebraska improve access to breast cancer education, screening and treatment in our community.” said Patty Bauer, Service Executive at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center.

Be sure to wear pink. Show your support by wearing your best pink attire.  Pink apparel from Lawlor’s will also be available on game night. A portion of proceeds from the apparel will benefit Susan G. Komen Nebraska.

“Nebraska ranks no. 40 in the U.S. for mammography screening rates, which highlights the critical need for education and awareness on breast health that can lead to early detection”, said Karen Daneu, Executive Director, Susan G. Komen Nebraska.  “We’re thankful for Methodist Health System and the Omaha Lancers for raising awareness and funds that support education, screening and treatment support for vulnerable Nebraskans.”

To add to the night, instead of “Chuck-a-Puck” during the second intermission on Saturday night a Pink Duck Toss will take place.  Pre-purchase your pink rubber ducky and toss it onto the ice for a chance to win prizes. Proceeds of the toss will also be going to Susan G. Komen Nebraska.

The Lancers finish the five game road trip on Friday night in Kearney, NE as they face the Tri-City Storm for the 7th time this season before return home on Saturday night for “Pink in the Rink”.  Puck drops at 7:30PM. LIVE coverage of the game begins at 7:15PM with the Valpak Pregame Show on The Mighty 1290 KOIL, www.mighty1290koil.com, and www.fasthockey.com.
