Nebraska Methodist College Brings Vaccines to Underserved Communities

Published: April 1, 2021

Instead of going to COVID-19 vaccine clinics, Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) is bringing vaccines to communities. On Wednesday, March 30, staff vaccinated dozens of community members at the Consulate of Mexico.

Kiley Petersmith, director of community engagement for NMC, said that staff has already come directly to the homeless population and low-income seniors, and now the focus is shifting.

"We're able to get the correct message out from health care providers to the community directly using those community partners and leaders," Petersmith said. "Now, we're kind of getting out to the refugee and immigrant communities."
