Sara Murphy Joins Methodist Hospital Community Counseling Program StaffPublished: Dec. 28, 2021
Sara Murphy, PLMHP, believes that counseling allows her to make a deep and lasting impact on individual lives. Murphy, a counselor with the Methodist Hospital Community Counseling Program, enjoys working with adolescents, teens and the LGBTQ+ community. She also enjoys leading family therapy.
Murphy had a time when she reached out for help herself and experienced great success, which has motivated her to help others achieve success as well. “My favorite moments are when clients are optimistic about their future – sometimes for the first time in a while,” Murphy said. “That’s why I chose to do what I do!”
She wants her clients to understand that each situation is unique.
“It’s important for patients to know that they will be supported through their journey no matter what their circumstances are,” Murphy said. “Patients’ goals are their own, and they’re able to decide what path feels right to them.”
