Methodist Community Health Clinic To Host Free Community Health Fair at Kountze Commons

The Methodist Community Health Clinic is proud to partner with Kountze Commons and the Nebraska Methodist College Mobile Diabetes Center to offer a free Community Health Fair. Attendees can be screened for and get more information on a variety of chronic health conditions.
The fair will take place on Monday, June 27, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church Community Food Pantry (2665 Douglas St. in Omaha). No appointments are needed, and all are welcome.
Available services and screenings include:
- Access to the Kountze food pantry
- Head and neck cancer screenings
- Healthy eating tips from registered dietitians
- Tips and education to help you:
- Stop smoking
- Spot the signs and symptoms of a stroke and/or heart attack
- Vital sign and glucose checks on the Nebraska Methodist College Mobile Diabetes Center
“Attendees can pick and choose what services they want,” said Jeanne Rice, program manager for the Methodist Community Health Clinic. “We individualize care and education based on each person’s needs. We work with a variety of community partners and will have referral sources for anyone needing more support for a chronic condition.”
With many community events and mobile screenings sidelined due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Community Health Fair is supporting Methodist’s goals of catching people up on missed screenings and breaking down barriers to health care by meeting people where they are.
“Methodist’s commitment to our diverse communities is what we’re all about,” said Mike Kraus, community commitment coordinator at Methodist Health System. “By collaborating with key partners like Kountze Commons and Nebraska Methodist College, we can bring our people, talents and services directly to community members.”
