What do doctors do when they retire? If you said golf, you're only partly right.

Dr. Scott Bomgaars, 59, who practiced pediatric medicine in Council Bluffs for 31 years, retired last year.

On Sept. 15, 2016, he became vice president of medical affairs at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Because his office was in the 201 Ridge St. building on the Jennie Campus, Bomgaars already had a strong relationship with Jennie.

Bomgaars acts as a medical consultant to Jennie President and CEO Steve Baumert and a liaison between administration and medical staff.
