Dr. Vo Joins Methodist OB/GYN Staff

OMAHA — Whether delivering babies, helping couples through difficult moments or providing routine care, Christine Vo had plenty of rewarding experiences as an active-duty military doctor.

The Air Force veteran joins the Methodist Physicians Clinic OB/GYN staff after a career that took her to bases in Japan and Germany. She most recently was a staff physician at Offutt Air Force Base.

“It was during my first year of medical school when I decided that I wanted to join the military,” said Dr. Vo, who emigrated with her family from Vietnam when she was a child. “After 9/11 it was just a large sense of nationalistic pride. As an immigrant I wanted to do something else for my country, to kind of help contribute somehow to the country who adopted us.”

Her interest in medicine was sparked by her father, who established his own medical practice with an eye on the underserved.

“That was kind of our second home,” Dr. Vo said. “Growing up in that environment really inspired me.”

She received her bachelor’s degree in human physiology and neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego. She earned her medical degree from Boston University and completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine.

Dr. Vo said her time in the military, taking care of active-duty patients and their dependents, was an “amazing experience.”

“They deserve the best care,” she said. “So it’s been an honor being able to take care of them.”

Dr. Vo is now scheduling appointments at Methodist Physicians Clinic 192 Dodge (717 N. 190th Plaza). Appointments can be made by calling 402-815-1700.
