H. Wesley Cheng, MD Joins Methodist HealthWest Orthopedic Team

OMAHA  –  The orthopedic surgical group at Methodist Physicians Clinic HealthWest is expanding, with the recent hiring of H. Wesley Cheng, MD. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in the shoulder, hip and knee in arthroscopy and arthroplasty treatment options.

Dr. Cheng was born and raised in Omaha, and in fact, was born at Methodist.  He attended Millard North High School. He earned his bachelor’s in chemistry and his medical degree from Creighton University.

He completed his orthopedic surgery residency program at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. The University of Wisconsin was his next stop, where he completed his fellowship program.

While at the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Cheng spent extensive time and cared for the football team during their 2011 Big Ten Championship season. 

For the past three years, he has served as the team physician for Millard North.

He is married to Dr. Jessica Jones, infectious disease specialist at Methodist Physicians Clinic Regency. Together, they have a daughter and a son. 

Fun Fact: Dr. Cheng claims he can solve a Rubik’s Cube in less than three minutes.
