Jennie's New Linear Accelerator Seeing Steady Demand

Almost a year after the first patient was treated with Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital's new linear accelerator, demand is steady.

"We have done over 2,700 treatments on the machine," said Michelle Kaufman, director of oncology services at the Council Bluffs hospital. "We use the machine every day Monday through Thursday. We take care of patients all day long."

The machine, touted as state-of-the-art, delivers radiation with more speed and accuracy than its predecessor.
