Kountze Commons Brings Services Together

Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church recent "in the city for good" capital campaign funded the largest social ministry project in its 160-year history Kountze Commons.

Opened in October, the center features a health care clinic, pharmacy, behavioral health, educational, and food pantry services joined to this historic church in Omaha's urban core. The project partners Kountze with Methodist Hospital and Lutheran Family Services.

Methodist Hospital Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Josie Abboud said the Commons offers a one-stop response to diabetes, nutrition and mental health priorities outlined in a Douglas County Health Department community health needs assessment.
