Taking Aim at Opioids and Mental Health

Melanie Ryan and Lora Cobbs are on the front lines of two very serious issues facing our communities and nation - opioid overuse and mental health.

Ryan, director of pharmacy at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital, is fighting the overuse of opioids on multiple fronts, starting with the use of the medication with hospital patients.

Cobbs, director of behavioral health at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital, is working to improve mental health care in Council Bluffs and beyond.
