Peggy Helget
Vice President, Patient Services/Chief Nursing Officer
Peggy Helget, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, joined Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital as vice president and chief nursing officer in 2008.
In this position, Helget oversees patient services, including the medical/surgical unit, telemetry, intensive care, the birthing center, emergency department, respiratory care, surgery and outpatient services, and the inpatient psychiatric unit.
Helget joined Methodist Jennie Edmundson after 30 years at Fremont Area Medical Center in Fremont, Nebraska, where she most recently served as director of acute nursing. Her background in patient safety includes completion of the Patient Safety Officer Executive Program with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and Patient Safety Improvement Corps with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
Helget earned her associate and master’s degrees in nursing at the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Nursing. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont. She is board certified in Nursing Administration–Advanced with the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
