Geriatric & Senior Services

Compassionate care for patients with unique medical needs

Many seniors find that their golden years give them more time to enjoy life and take better care of their health. However, growing older can also bring new health challenges. Geriatric and senior services across Methodist Health System offer the right care for seniors as they face age-related health issues.

Methodist Hospital patients may benefit from the Acute Care for Elders (ACE) Unit, which is designed to prevent health and safety complications while promoting independence. The Geriatric Resource Nurse (GRN) program in the Emergency Department aims to prevent future emergency room visits and hospitalizations by identifying older adults with non-emergent needs and connecting them with appropriate resources. Volunteers in the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) meet with patients at risk for disorientation with the goal of supporting socialization, alertness and mobility.

Through Methodist Fremont Health’s AgeLess program, seniors have easy access to a variety of wellness activities, health education and support groups. Dunklau Gardens provides long-term care and short-term rehabilitation services.

Methodist Physicians Clinic Indian Hills is home to the Geriatric Assessment Clinic, where a multidisciplinary team works to find solutions for patients facing age-related and cognitive challenges.
