Bald and Brave Event Endures Weekend Heat

Many Bluffsians braved the heat to participate in the fourth-annual Bald and the Brave Challenge Saturday in the 100 block of West Broadway.

The event is a fundraiser for Methodist Jennie Edmundson’s Spirit of Courage Charitable Patient Care Fund.

The first challenge was to make the heat bearable for participants, noted Tara Slevin, vice president of development and volunteer services at Jennie.

The Bald and Brave Challenge was the first of what's to come this summer, with all proceeds going to the Charitable Cancer Patient Care Fund as reported in the Daily Nonpareil.
