A Doggone Good Valentine's Day at Methodist Hospital

Published: Feb. 14, 2019

Hospital staff and nurses try just about anything to make patients feel better. And this Valentine's Day, patients on the oncology floor at Methodist Hospital got a little extra love.

A little bit of a puppy love, that is.

Every Thursday, Lexi and Dude roam the halls at Methodist, visiting patients to brighten their days.

Kris Weland works with the volunteer therapy dogs. She said she loves to see the reactions to Dude and Lexi.

"It's just an immediate smile when I say, 'Would you like a visit from one of our therapy dogs?' And they say, 'Oh my gosh, are you kidding?' And it's almost like they forget they are sick for a few minutes."
