Dr. Grams Joins Methodist Surgery Staff
Published: Sept. 5, 2019Dr. Ben Grams has joined the surgery staff at 8111 Dodge St. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. He completed his medical training and general surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. His medical interests include laparoscopic and robotic hernia repair.
Dr. Grams became interested in medicine at an early age thanks to his mother, an ICU nurse and flight nurse in Kearney, Nebraska. Her exciting work fascinated him.
“She also had a lot of interesting insight into the patient-provider relationship,” he said. “And I felt like that was something that was quite remarkable and something that was very unique to a lot of professions, especially medicine.”
His mother’s example taught him lessons he relies on today. Dr. Grams is able to combine his love of technology and his technical skills with meaningful patient relationships.
“I will go the extra mile to help make you comfortable every step of the way,” he said. “I will not only be your surgeon but also your teammate and partner through the preoperative, operative and postoperative care you need.”
He sees that same selfless attitude in everyone he works with, and that’s why he’s proud to wear the Methodist badge.
“Everybody has the same goal in mind, and that’s to take care of patients and their families.”
In his spare time, Dr. Grams enjoys golfing, skiing and working on the family farm in south central Nebraska.
Dr. Grams is now seeing patients at 8111 Dodge St. Appointments can be made by calling (402) 354-8163.
