Dr. Harris Now Seeing Patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic Regency
Published: Sept. 6, 2018OMAHA — Dr. Brian Harris got his first look at Methodist as a student and resident at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
“I always remember how kind, genuine and happy the staff was,” he said. “In addition, the patients just loved seeing their provider every time they came into the office. It’s something that always stuck with me. I knew that’s where I wanted to work."
Dr. Harris has joined the Methodist Physicians Clinic internal medicine staff. He said the variety of conditions he might see drew him to his specialty, but meeting people and interacting with patients are what he loves most about the job.
“It's always fascinating to see where they came from, their backgrounds, their walks of life. They've all got stories,” he said. “And so it's fun chatting with them, getting to know them and building those relationships.”
Dr. Harris earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He completed his medical training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and he was a resident there in the Internal Medicine-Primary Care Residency Program. He most recently was an assistant professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
He said his favorite moments as a doctor come when patients express their gratitude.
“That just tells me I'm making an impact and doing something good. I'm making a difference in their lives,” he said. “And at the end of the day that's really why we get into medicine, to make a difference and make people's lives better.”
Dr. Harris is now seeing patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic Regency (10060 Regency Circle). Appointments can be made by calling 402-354-1500.
