After a round of golf on a beautiful fall afternoon, many people head for a cold beverage and a lengthy recollection of the day’s best shots.

On Sept. 2, 2016, John McCreedie followed his game with a trip directly to Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

While McCreedie was on the golf course, his family physician called him about blood tests he had undergone in preparation for back surgery. The tests had discovered something alarming.
