Families, Staff Gather to Hug and Celebrate at NICU Reunion

There were a few tears, a lot of hugs but mostly lots of smiling faces as graduates of the Methodist Women's Hospital NICU and their families paraded from Women's Hospital to West Dodge Station Elementary for the annual NICU reunion.

Sunday's event drew 127 families and nearly 500 attendees for an afternoon of face painting, refreshments, coloring and reconnecting with nurses, doctors and other families whose babies received care at Methodist.

This year's event had a construction theme to tie in to the current NICU expansion project which will expand the current space from 28 private beds to 51.
