Famous Father, Son Bond Over Gifts from Afar

Since arriving in Omaha 20 years ago, Stephen Zubrod has enjoyed a career in marketing and volunteered for such civic events as the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials.

He now is a vice president at Methodist Health System, and his surname has caught the eyes and ears of cancer doctors.

“Zubrod?” more than one has said in surprise and awe. “Your father was Gordon Zubrod?”

Omaha World-Herald columnist, Mike Kelly, sat down with Stephen Zubrod, vice president/chief marketing officer at Methodist to learn more about his famous father and his recent donation to UNO.
