Healthcare Future Looking Bright in Council Bluffs

Published: May 15, 2018

While residents of Council Bluffs and the surrounding area are already blessed with a broad range of health care facilities and options, the future looks even brighter.

Officials at Council Bluffs’ Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital have announced plans for a 60,000-square-foot medical office building that will, when it is completed, be home to an expanded staff of primary care physicians, women’s services and urgent care services.

The building will be bordered by Ridge Street, Kanesville Boulevard and East Pierce Streets in an area that now serves as a parking lot across from the hospital. Land southwest of the new building purchased recently by Jennie Edmundson Hospital will become the parking lot for the building. Methodist Health System officials said the new facility will allow Jennie Edmundson Hospital to expand its roster of primary care clinic providers from eight to 15.
