Julie Murray named executive vice president for Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women’s Hospital

Josie Abboud, president and CEO of Methodist Health System, has announced that Julie Murray has been chosen as executive vice president of Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women’s Hospital.

Murray will assume her new leadership role on April 1.

Murray has served as interim executive vice president for Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women’s Hospital since Jan. 1, 2026.

Prior to that appointment, she served as vice president of ancillary and professional services since 2018. Murray previously served as director of hospital-based clinics and professional services for Methodist Hospital from 2010 to 2013, and she was an adjunct faculty member at Nebraska Methodist College from 2008 to 2013. From 2013 to 2018, Murray was CEO of Bryan Health’s Merrick Medical Center/Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City, Nebraska.

“Throughout Julie’s career, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, sound judgment and a deep commitment to advancing patient care and operational excellence,” Abboud said. “Her experience, strategic mindset and ability to inspire and collaborate with teams makes her uniquely qualified to lead Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women’s Hospital.”

Murray’s health care experience also includes stints as operations director for clinics and business development as well as vice president for marketing and business development at MCH Health System in Blair, Nebraska. She also has experience as a consultant, helping regional health care organizations develop strategic plans and identify opportunities for financial and operational improvement.

Murray earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and holds a master’s in management from Bellevue University.
