When you are expecting, you hear a lot of advice about what’s best for baby. Now there may be a way you to give baby an extra boost hadn’t thought much about – keeping baby attached to the umbilical cord just a little bit longer.

When discussing a birth plan with my patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic Women’s Center, we often address the subject of cord clamping and the right time to do this.
