Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women’s Hospital were recognized by The American Association for Men in Nursing (AAMN) as Best Workplaces for Men in Nursing.
“Being named one of the AAMN’s ‘Best Workplaces’ affirms our dedication to advancing diversity, equity and belonging in nursing,” said Crystal Smith, DNP, RN, NE-BC, service executive at Methodist Hospital. “It’s an honor that celebrates our people as much as our progress.”
Smith, Ethan Wooters, nurse coordinator for ortho/neuro at Methodist Hospital, and Alex Anthone, staff development nurse for surgical services at Methodist Hospital, recently attended the 50th annual AAMN Conference in Orlando to accept the award.
The AAMN Best Workplaces for Men in Nursing award program recognizes hospitals that have provided significant efforts in recruiting and retaining men in nursing, providing a supportive environment for male nurses and educating staff and the community about the contributions men make to the nursing profession.
The mission of AAMN is “to shape the practice, education, research and leadership for men in nursing and advance men’s health.”
