Congratulations to the Methodist Hospital Cardiovascular Surgical Services team for being honored with The DAISY Team Award! The team was nominated by Scott and Michelle Jarman after he suffered an aortic dissection on Father’s Day 2024. Thanks to the lifesaving collaboration of the Cardiovascular Surgical Services team and many others – including Emergency Department staff at Methodist Fremont Health – Scott Jarman is on the mend.
Among the staff members who cared for the Jarman family:
- Armando Adame Alcantar, surgical tech
- Kristina Haase, PA-C
- Wendy Hansen, RN
- Carl Heine, MD
- Angela Knigge, RN
- Barbara Koke, RN
- Thomas Langdon, MD
- Kimberly Martinez, surgical tech
- Jocelyn Nutty, RN
- Kelli Peterson, MD
- David Prystai, patient access professional
- Tyler Raygor, RN
- Drew Rogers, RN
- Megan Schwartz, RN
- David Votrain, radiology tech
- Maddy Wieseler, perfusionist
The Jarmans summed up their nomination by writing: “Scott beat the odds, and not many people beat these odds, according to both the ER doc and Dr. Langdon. We will forever be grateful for the care that everyone from both hospitals gave Scott and his family that day.”
Scott Jarman’s story was detailed in the Fall/Winter issue of The Meaning of Care Magazine. Read it here.
