Congratulations to Joyce Clark, BSN, RN, a staff nurse on the Medical-Surgical Unit at Methodist Hospital, for being honored with The DAISY Award. Her nominator wrote:

“Being in the same field for multiple years, you can easily see how people get burnt out, especially in the medical field, but you’d never know that with Joyce. She comes in each day with a positive outlook and always gets her patients motivated to get up and work on getting well. After being in the hospital for three weeks – and having Joyce as my nurse multiple times – I truly looked forward to the days she walked into my room. She is the nurse who, with her years of experience, knows how to read her patients and can tell what they are up to versus what they can accomplish. She is also the nurse that truly listens. ... My major reason for nominating Joyce is because a lot of times people hear about nominating a nurse for a DAISY Award and automatically think of the newer nurses. I, on the other hand, think we don’t give enough credit to the ones who have 'gotten us to this place.' ... These are the nurses that need to know that they are still appreciated and deserve it! So to Joyce – BRAVA dear nurse – for all that you have done and continue to do for your patients and for your hospital. Without you leading the way, Methodist wouldn’t be where it is today!"
