Congratulations to Olivia Powers, RN, a registered nurse on the Medical Observation Unit at Methodist Hospital, for being honored with The DAISY Award.
The Nebraska Methodist College graduate was nominated by a patient, who wrote:
“She was very patient with me when I was anxious with a bedside procedure and advocated for me very well to the doctors. You can tell she truly cares about her patients and spent a lot of time listening to me. I mentioned hospitals are hard for me when I don’t have family, and I do this all alone. She was so kind and brought me some beautiful flowers. She doesn’t even know how much that really means to me. She saw me as a human, needing some love and support, too, and I am so grateful. I usually get treated differently because of my autism, and she made a huge difference.”
