Congratulations to Brenna Kelly, RN, a nurse on the Women and Newborns floor at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital and Nebraska Methodist College Graduate, for being honored with The DAISY Award. Her nominator wrote:
“Brenna was one of the nurses that cared for me while I was in labor. She helped ease some of my anxiety about labor by listening to my birth preferences, helping me come up with a plan and reassuring me that I was doing great. At the end of her shift, she mentioned that if I was still in labor by the next morning, she would be my nurse. Sure enough, I was still in labor by the next morning, discouraged and unsettled by my lack of progress throughout the night. However, Brenna came in the next day with a joyful, confident and excited demeanor. She reassured me that I was going to have a baby that day. That attitude helped change my whole mood. I was able to refocus and be excited about having a baby. With her attitude and educated plan, I was able to deliver my baby a few hours later. I am so thankful that I had her as a nurse. It completely changed my labor experience.”
