Methodist Welcomes Dr. Desai

Dr. Rini Desai, a physiatrist at Methodist Hospital and Methodist Physicians Clinic HealthWest, is passionate about helping people work through life-changing events.
She attended the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri and completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of Washington in Seattle.
“The best part of my job is being able to help and heal people when they’re at their most vulnerable,” she said.
She is honored to be part of The Meaning of Care at Methodist – something she heard about from some of her favorite mentors in residency. To her, it means “going above and beyond and doing whatever I possibly can to help the patient.”
Dr. Desai also believes that practicing evidence-based medicine is critical to providing effective patient care.
“It means always doing right by the patient,” she said. “It’s an art, but it’s also a science.”
In her free time, Dr. Desai enjoys being outdoors, traveling, trying different cuisines, hiking and spending time with friends and family.
