Nebraska Methodist College partners with Omaha Burke High School for free sports physicals

Published: June 17, 2026

Thanks to a partnership between Nebraska Methodist College and Omaha Burke High School, free sports physicals were offered on Monday and Tuesday at Burke High School.

“Last summer we held our first clinic and we served almost 100 students and it was such a good success so they were like hey we would like to have you back next year,” said Nebraska Methodist College professor Allison Kinney-Walker.

This opportunity allows student athletes to receive a physical and give hands on experience for Methodist students.

“I think it is a good way to get the nerves out to maybe practice the skills that we haven’t done since the beginning of the school year,” said Nebraska Methodist College senior Sasha Cieluch. "So it brings us back to step one and focus on getting everything down.”

Methodist students practiced skills like talking with a patient, taking height and weight, conducting eye exams and taking blood pressure.
