New screening technology keeps newborns safe

There's a new tool at Methodist Women's Hospital to help keep newborn babies safe.

"You're sleep deprived, but excited at the same time. All I can think about is how tired I am but I can't go to sleep because it's such an exciting thing to go through,” said new mom Alicia McCarthy.

Alicia and her husband Dan are the proud parents of little Cora.

Just hours after she was born at Methodist Women's Hospital, Cora's feet were photographed.

It's the hospital's latest child-protection measure called CertaScan
