NMC Lends a Hand at Foot Care Clinic

Published: Sept. 22, 2018

Nebraska Methodist College teamed up with the Suburban Rotary of Omaha for a foot care clinic that provided assistance to 150 homeless individuals on Saturday, Sept. 22.

This is the second year for the partnership and this year a team of three dozen Nebraska Methodist College nursing and occupational therapy students and faculty members will provide screenings, assessments and education to protect foot health and prevent small issues from developing into chronic health problems, such as the loss of a foot or limb to untreated diabetes.

Nearly 40 Suburban Rotarians assisted by checking in the homeless, escorting them to exams, handing out foot care packages and socks and fitting 150 with new hiking boots provided from Scheels at cost, with project funding from Rotarian grant monies.
