Omaha Man Back Home After Accident in Mexico

An Omaha man is in a medically-induced coma after surviving a surfing in Mexico.

John Abkes was vacationing last week in Cabo San Lucas with his family. They were body surfing when a rogue wave swept John out to sea.

John's son, Luke Abkes, and his daughter, Jennifer McIvor, found their father floating lifelessly and pulled him to shore. Jennifer told WOWT 6 News: "He was non-responsive and he was losing color. His eyes were glazed over."
