Pat Chalfant Celebrates 51 years at Methodist

Friends and colleagues will give Pat Chalfant a cheerful send-off Friday after a nearly 52-year career at Methodist Hospital — though not with the loud cheers she heard as a teenager.

In 1963, she played before a packed arena on the Iowa girls state champion basketball team from Guthrie Center, 80 miles east of Omaha.

And she’s still a big fan of all sports.

"Huskers, No. 1,” said Pat, a football season ticket holder. “But one of the guys here was giving me a hard time because I knew how the University of Nebraska women’s bowling team finished this year — second in the NCAA.”
