Program Offers Care for Sexual Assault Survivors

Methodist has the longest running program geared towards domestic violence and sexual assault in the state of Nebraska.

Sexual assault survivors are one of the only populations that come into the emergency department not to be taken care of by someone specially trained to see them. 

That's in the past, thanks to the Heidi Wilke SANE/SART program. The Methodist program has 22-plus nurses on call 24/7 to assist survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, strangulation and elder abuse.
