When a person is sexually assaulted, it is recommended that she/he go to a hospital and call police. At that time a rape kit is often conducted. Anne Boatright, RN, SANE, is the coordinator for Methodist's SANE/SART Program, a program focussed on meeting the needs of rape victims.

The rape kits Methodist nurses complete sometimes go untested, and now one organization is working to make sure every single one of those kits is evaluated. KMTV's Jennifer Griswold asked police and other local agencies why that does not always happen.
