Record Day at Women's Hospital, 29 babies in 24 hours

The “Fourth Was With Us” on Thursday, May 4th – as Methodist Women's Hospital delivered 29 babies in 24 hours.

This broke the old record of 28 babies in 24 hours on Aug. 4, 2015.

The first baby arrived at 12:15 .m. and baby No. 29 was welcomed at 11:56 p.m. Of those 29 there was one set of twins and the boys outnumbered the girls - barely. The day saw 15 boys and 14 girls welcomed by the 14 physicians who delivered babies during the record-breaking event.

We literally had babies every hour,” Sharon McArdle, Director of Nursing and Service Leader for Labor and Delivery at Methodist Women’s Hospital, told Omaha media on Friday afternoon.
