Respiratory Therapist Inspired Career Path
Published: May 14, 2018LaToya Sharp was all smiles this week. She graduated from Nebraska Methodist College after a long journey that began back in 2012.
Sharp brought her young son came to Omaha, from Texas, for a liver transplant and learned he had acute chronic respiratory failure as well.
Nebraska Medicine assigned him a respiratory therapist named Mitch Jamison.
He showed empathy, kindness and gave encouragement to the boy and his worried Mom.
Sharp said, "The respiratory team actually had the most impact over my son's care and me as well. That moment I met him I knew he wasn't a regular staff member. He was going above and beyond."
