Students Explore Careers in Surgical Technology

Students at Grand Island Senior High got a chance to see what life in an operating room is like Friday.

A program director for the surgical technology program at Nebraska Methodist College in Omaha told students about the duties of a surgical tech. They are responsible for preparing patients for surgery and having the right instruments ready for the surgeons.

The program director says the job is crucial to an OR and they can even save a person's life.
