Well-Known Omaha Cancer Survivor Urges Others to Get Screened

Published: April 3, 2017

Michael Lyon is known for his voice. He's an anchor for Omaha Public Radio and a popular singer.

After a performance in 2015, Michael noticed something on his neck.

"There was a very large lump. It was about the size of a golf ball," Michael said.

He went to the hospital where he was eventually diagnosed with stage four tonsil cancer.

Now Michael is using his experience to encourage others to take part in the free screening offered by Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center.
