Official Title

Targeted Treatment for Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Study Purpose

To find out if a targeted or immunotherapy treatment will have an effect on specific genes and proteins in the tumor.

Diagnosis

Non-Small Lung Cancer

Eligibility

Must have stage IV non-small cell lung cancer

Patients must sign an approved informed consent and authorization permitting release of personal health information.

Intervention

The first step would be to have the researchers send in tissue from a previous surgery for testing. The purpose of testing would be to have the tumor match a specific study drug.  Continue with current treatment as long as it is working.

If the tumor grows while on treatment, you could be placed on another treatment based on the results of the prior testing.  Having that testing done would expedite the initiation of a treatment plan.
