Official Title
Phase III Prospective Randomized Trial of Primary Lung Tumor Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy Followed By Concurrent Mediastinal Chemoradiation For Locally Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Study Purpose
To compare overall survival in patients with Stage II-IIIC inoperable Non-small cell lung cancer comparing conventional radiation with chemotherapy to stereotactic body radiation and conventional radiation along with chemotherapy
Diagnosis
Stage II OR III non-small cell lung cancer with known tumor marker (PDL-1)Eligibility
Locally advanced, inoperable node positive non small cell lung cancer. Deemed appropriate for curative intent. No distant metastases.
Intervention
: Arm 1--conventional radiation to the primary tumor and/or metastases given with chemotherapy (OR)
Arm 2-- stereotactic body radiation (SBRT) to the primary tumor followed by conventional radiation with chemotherapy.
