Long-Lost Sisters Reunited at Dunklau Gardens

It was an ordinary night at Dunklau Gardens for medication aide Bev Boro until a routine task became life-changing. As she was reviewing resident care plans, one name caught her attention: Doris Crippen. The resident tested positive for COVID-19 in early May and was hospitalized. While she has since recovered from her illness, she’s now being treated for a broken arm – a result of a fall from the weakness that COVID-19 caused.

“I thought, ‘Gosh, I know that name.’ And then it hit me,” said Bev, who has been searching for siblings she was separated from as a baby. “I think that’s my sister!”

After more than 50 years apart, the sisters were reunited and are now making up for lost time.
