Dr. Carlos Giraldo joins Methodist Physicians Clinic's team of Internal Medicine providers

Published: Sept. 5, 2024

Born and raised in Colombia, Carlos Giraldo, MD, spent part of his career as a physician with Doctors Without Borders, caring for people in countries throughout Latin America, Asia and Africa.

“I really try to understand the patient’s background since I have a lot of experience working in more than 14 countries on different continents with different languages,” he said. “So I always try to connect the patient with their symptoms, trying to understand their background with the current situation.”

Now an internal medicine provider with Methodist Physicians Clinic, Dr. Giraldo says his favorite part of being a doctor is relating with patients and helping them improve their quality of life — physically and mentally.

“I’ll do my best to help my patients feel healthy, feel safe and have confidence in me,” he said.

Dr. Giraldo believes in the importance of establishing a relationship with a primary care provider before something goes wrong.

“Unfortunately, many conditions are silent, so you don’t feel anything until the disease is really advanced,” he said.

He also believes that being a part of the Methodist network allows him to easily connect patients with a wide range of services.

“I will utilize all the resources available to me to bring them back to their best possible health,” he said.

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Giraldo enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading and listening to music.
