Margaret Ingemansen, MD, became interested in medicine shortly after being diagnosed with asthma as a child.

“The amount of time, education and compassion that was shown to my family and me really inspired me to learn more about how to take care of myself and others,” she said.

During medical school, she realized that she liked everything she was learning and doing. She fell in love with the idea of specializing in family practice and getting a front-row seat to watch families grow and develop. Now a family medicine provider at Methodist Physicians Clinic, she said it’s an honor to be able to assist with such a dynamic process. She prides herself on her honest and empathetic nature – something that’s favored by many of her patients.

“I’m not someone who’s going to beat around the bush, but I’m also not going to yell at you when you make a mistake,” she said. “I’m going to help you and work with you to get it right.”

Working for Methodist gives her a strong sense of pride, she said, and a lot of it has to do with the health system’s patient-centered approach to care and community-focused mission.

“Its reputation for compassion in the community we serve is just outstanding.”

Dr. Ingemansen graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine and completed her residency at Clarkson Family Medicine.

In her free time, she enjoys getting outdoors and experiencing the beauty of every season with her husband and three daughters. She also enjoys cooking and traveling with them. A Connecticut native, she cherishes every trip back to New England to visit family and friends.
