Dr. Kendall Niehaus returns to hometown of Fremont as a Methodist family medicine physician

Kendall Niehaus, DO, traces her interest in medicine back to the middle and high school science classes that sparked her fascination with how the human body works.

During medical school, the Fremont native gravitated toward family medicine because of its relationship‑driven nature.

“I enjoy building connections with people and learning about their family life, their personal life,” said Dr. Niehaus, a family medicine physician at Methodist Physicians Clinic - Prairie Fields.

Dr. Niehaus has particular interests in adolescent medicine and geriatrics – two transitional stages of life where she believes guidance, education and empathy can make a profound difference. Her approach to caring for patients across all life stages centers on trust, listening and shared decision‑making. 

“There’s certainly a textbook answer for a lot of things in medicine,” she said, “but it doesn’t always align with the patient’s goals. It’s my job to understand those goals, provide education and guide them toward what’s truly best for their health.”

Dr. Niehaus is proud to practice in Fremont and serve the community that shaped her. She was drawn to Methodist for its collaborative environment and commitment to delivering compassionate, high‑quality care.

Outside the clinic, she enjoys golfing – a lifelong passion she’s shared with her dad – cheering on her favorite sports teams and embracing her role as an aunt.
