Dr. Stolmeier New to Staff at Methodist Dermatology

OMAHA — When seeing patients, there’s a rule Dr. Deirdre Stolmeier always follows.

“Treating that person like you’d want your family member to be treated,” she said. “I’ve had family members with some significant illnesses, and I’ve gone through medicine on the other side.”

Dr. Stolmeier has joined the staff at Methodist Physicians Clinic Dermatology.

Her upbringing set the stage for a career in medicine. Her mother, a science teacher, got her interested in the subject as well as service projects. And her father, an oncologist, let his children spend plenty of time in his office.

“So I saw the profound impact he had on his patients’ lives, and I wanted to have that relationship with people and serve other people as well,” she said.

Dr. Stolmeier received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Creighton University and completed her medical training at the University of Iowa. She completed her dermatology residency at the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

She’s excited to be part of a team approach at Methodist: working with a skilled, committed staff to provide the best care, and involving patients in their treatment options.

“I love the relationships you get to have with patients,” Dr. Stolmeier said. “Skin is on the outside for everyone to see, so when people have problems with their skin it can be very stigmatizing. But in dermatology you can make a really big difference in people’s lives.”

Dr. Stolmeier is now seeing patients at West Dodge Medical Plaza (515 N. 162nd Ave.) Appointments can be made by calling 402-354-0621.
